The parent organization of tests like SAT, AP, CLEP and Accuplacer made over $1B in revenue and $150-160M in profit as a certified non-profit 501(c)3 organization and the CEO made over $1.5M in salary.
The company also holds over $1.1B in cash. Enough to buy/invest in universities to sway their decisions; they’ve done this in past. However, this is just surface level crap. It gets much MUCH worse.
As if the amount of money they make isn’t outrageous enough already, they sell student information at $0.47/ per name. So they make money from the students on every front possible.
Their most valuable product, SAT, has its origins in eugenics/ white supremacy. Carl Brigham, creator of SAT, admitted in his book stating “These tests have proven beyond scientific doubt that, like American Negros, the Italians and the Jews are genetically ineducable.
CollegeBoard is an educational scam run by the elites to carefully manage “diversities” among campuses and act as the gatekeepers to higher-Ed who get to decide who is worthy enough to succeed in life.
I will say, I have fed their flames by taking the SATs three times thinking if I get a good score I can get into a good college. Though I always found it weird as to why we were taught “tips and tricks” to ace the SATs
when an educational exam should measure your academic know-how’s, not how you can game the system. For example, these lazy clowns at CollegeBoard copy paste the same exam time to time and how long your essay is matter more than the quality of your essay.
In the wake of Coronavirus pandemic, many colleges have waived the SAT requirements only proving the point that they were useless to begin with. It’s all a money-grabbing scheme with CollegBoards and colleges.
Anyway, I’m not sure how to end this thread but just know that CollegeBoard sucks. Peace.
