👑🏆 Özil de-slander thread 🏆👑

Enjoy. 👇
‘Özil fanboy’ is a ridiculous phrase. Here’s why:

The man won German player of the year a record 5x, all consecutively. This was amongst the years of Germany’s World Cup

All were also after his shining performances in Germany’s youth successes where he won multiple honours
In his time at Real Madrid, he was clearly pivotal to plans, which was only amplified by the outcry of fans when he left for Arsenal.

Ronaldo clearly voiced at the time how it was a mistake to let him go.

Managers like Wenger & Mourinho have put him amongst their best ever.
Mesut joined Arsenal in a time were hope was almost non-existent.

When he was signed for his then-record fee, Arsenal fans literally poured out into the streets around the stadium.
3 FA Cups in 4 years. Arsenal player of the year 2015-2016. Alexis leaves, 22nd Jan 2018.

Arsenal in the mud. Selling club-claims rise again as Özil could walk into any club he wishes in the summer FOR MORE MONEY as a free agent.

9 days later, commits his future to Arsenal.
We sign the likes of Lacazette for £50m and Aubameyang for £60m around during this Özil period of news and form.

Would we have signed such strikers without Özil? In all likelihood, no.
Özil chose to commit to Arsenal when he could’ve made more £ and won more 🏆. Fact, whether it fits your agenda or not.

He has been among Arsenal’s most loyal players since the turn of millennia.
After his 2018 WC campaign, Özil received a lot of hate and was met with racism after GER’s poor tournament

“I’m German when we win, but I am an immigrant when we lose”

He with Turkish president Erdoğan in London, May 2018. This was also used against him as if it was a crime...
From here on, many events unfolded.

The knife-point attempted mugging whilst with his wife and the media attention which followed.

Speaking out for Muslims in China.

Disagreeing with the wage-cut which actually didn’t save AFC jobs.
His ‘non-compliance’ in the optional paycut.

His outspoken views for what he believes in.

His £350k a week during the current climate.

In more ways than one, he’s costing Arsenal plc money. We forget Football isn’t only a ruthless sport but a ruthless business.
Arsenal’s once shining darling with a non-controversial image, decided to stand for what he believes in, and are causes in which he is has always been more than charitable in.

The question is, has the club been trying to freeze Özil out since last year?
No matter how Özil’s Arsenal career ends, to me he will be one of Arsenal’s most influential players ever in the way he changed Arsenal’s fortunes when he came in.

History will be kind to Mesut Özil for all the aforementioned.

He will go down as an Arsenal great.
