The 10 FRSC officials abducted last week on the Abuja-Kaduna road have been released. The Spokesman of Nasarawa State Police Command featured on BBB Hausa on Tuesday claiming credit for rescuing them with no ransom or injuries. But the victims told BBC today that the police lied.
They said each victim’s family paid five to six million naira. Two of them detailed to BBC Hausa how the money was paid to the kidnappers before they’re released. They also disputed that they’re not injured as several of them are in hospital including one whose leg was amputated.
They lamented how they’re captured on duty, but were abandoned to their families, who had to contribute or borrow money to free them alive.

I know how rotten the Nigerian police is, but it amazes me why they needed to get on the BBC and just lie. They could’ve simply kept quite.
