Big news! The @CambridgeAltFin cryptoasset benchmarking study is out. Big takeaway: they estimate the number of cryptoasset users at 101m worldwide, up from 35m in 2018, using the same methodology (caveats apply)
This is significant because it& #39;s a nice round number, and because their 2018 figure is widely cited as one of the most reliable estimates for the number of users worldwide. Congrats to @ApollineBlandin, @ProfPieters, and the rest of the Cambridge AltFin team. Thank you again for your ongoing contributions!
Now if the Bank of Canada would publish an update to their Bitcoin awareness survey that would be great...
Just read the whole report. It& #39;s very very good. Highly recommended.
If you want to hear from CCAF& #39;s @ApollineBlandin on how they estimated Bitcoin& #39;s energy footprint (lots of good data on this in the report), she appeared on @OnTheBrinkCIV not too long ago https://onthebrink-podcast.com/apolline-blandin-ccaf/">https://onthebrink-podcast.com/apolline-...
