A thread of the niggaprint in kpop
Now before i start this. The niggaprint and appropriation are not synonymous. It’s trends set/popularized by black people. People seem to forget majority of the trends we set are all over the place, including kpop so let’s get into it
Bts have literally had to correct people in interviews that the dance isn’t called the “idol dance” and it’s actually the gwara gwara.
The shoot, starting as a joke between friends and turning into a whole meme
Part of the renegade dance started by @/jalaiah on tiktok
Adding this in because it’s just satisfying to watch her do it
Nicki minaj with this style of two tone hair, not started by, but became trendy all over the internet after
Convertible pants trended by rihanna, the rihannaprint if you will
Hairpin trend coming back from the 90’s and getting popularized again by multiple famous black women
I think we can all agree multiple groups make music that’s completely built off the niggaprint but let’s just look at one example. One in which the producers were the same and credited ofc
There was actually a thread of kpop songs written and produced by black people in the industry but i cant find it at the moment
But let’s go into just a few examplese that weren’t because the name “kpop” makes some people forget there’s literally genres started by black people (hiphop, r&b, and funk) included. Actually the whole genre is built off the niggaprint if you know the story
I don’t feel like making this thread any longer, it could go for days honestly so here’s something y’all may or may not know. The niggaprint is sometimes just in the family.
How many of you actually know they’re father and son? Carrying the niggaprint on his back and in his genes
