So, I have a slight theory about the character designs in Puyo Puyo Tetris 2.

So, as we all know, when the first PPT came out, a far of amount of characters were given slight redesigns for their appearances in the game.

However, as with PPT2, it looks as if they’re going right back to the designs of the characters introduced in the game prior to the first PPT, 20th Anniversary.

So what happened? Why would they introduce these new redesigns for these characters only to abandon them later on?

Well, to my belief, those “redesigns” are actually more outdated versions of the 20th designs.

Now, you might be thinking “What the heck are you on about? PPT came after 20th” and you’re totally right, but you have to think about the development process of PPT.
