Why aren& #39;t bisexual people out? And what does this have to do with bi erasure?
Well, many bisexual people aren& #39;t out because 1)people forget they identify as bisexual because they think they are truly monosexual (hetero- or homosexual)

& 2) bisexuality has so much stigmatization! People assume we are cheaters or promiscuous because we have the capability of being attracted to multiple genders.

Why are many/most bisexual people in "straight" (please use opposite gender to not erase bisexuality and to not place us in monosexual boxes) relationships?
Because many same gender attracted people aren& #39;t "available" (weird word to use, pls reword if u can) to us.

"They don& #39;t get the mic."
All bisexual people are always bisexual. Which means, we may face both homophobia and biphobia.. and it may be internalized. Many people aren& #39;t accepting of bisexuality in both the LGBT and cishet populations.

Furthermore, bisexual people have the highest rated of suicidality and psychological distress compared to out lesbian and gay counterparts (will try to cite sources at the end!).

Yes, we do need a "mic" no matter ehat type of relationship we are in. Why? Because our attraction never goes away in terms of bisexuality. And because we have issues that aren& #39;t being discussed. And because we are rarely mentioned in "lesbian and gay" issues/community.

My favorite source to read by far is the San Francisco Health Resource Center& #39;s review on bisexual invisibility. It is extremely comprehensive.
It is labeled as SFHRC in my drive!
