The kind of authoritarianism Trump wants simply isn’t possible in America.

Without Congress, he’s weak. Also, our federalist system grants states great power. Trump would have to morph every Governor into a loyal oligarch for us to be anything comparable to Russia.

Just saying.

Been thinking a lot about what a potential Trump regime would be like amid all his claims he can steal the election.

Not only is it not likely he’d twist electors to his favor given many state laws make that impossible, his 2nd term really wouldn’t play out the way Trump thinks.

If you’ve read my work I’ve rung the alarm about Trump’s authoritarianism for the past 4 years. I’m not naive to it. I’m just trying to be realistic.

You think he can coerce blue states that have higher GDP’s than entire countries?

I might just delete this thread. I’m not saying not to worry. I’m not saying Trump is not an authoritarian. I mean come on, I’ve been on about his authoritarianism since 2015. I’m just trying to game other specifics of how this would actually play out.
