Alright, y’all! Here’s the rundown on the very first official Executive Committee meeting with @Queens_Dems, and my takeaways!

Last night, I got to see the inner working of the Queens Machine, and while it wasn’t as insidiously evil as one might expect, it’s a flawed system, as one *would*.
The idea that “elections” are held for the executive positions is... generous.
The idea that “elections” are held for the executive positions is... generous.
The only candidate that anyone on the outside of the inner circle has any preceding knowledge about is @RepGregoryMeeks for Chair, as he would obviously be up for re-election.
The process for the rest is incredibly opaque. The rest of the candidates for the Committee are all revealed seconds before you’re expected to “vote” on them, and you’re given no information as to what these candidates plan to do once they’re in these positions.
I say “vote”, because there was actually no vote at all. Robert’s Rules of Order are used for these meetings, but were not followed to conduct the actual purpose of the gathering. There was literally no vote by the body of District Leaders.
There was the expectation that @HiramMonserrate would possibly nominate some of his own supporters to these positions, but he apparently chose not to.
Side note here: I’ve heard that there were rumors that Monserrate was trying to tie himself to our New Reformers slate and was considering nominating one of us, but know that THIS SHIT WOULD’VE BEEN DECLINED. He’s a grifting woman beater, and has NO PLACE in our circles.
The nominees for all of the Committee positions were announced together as a slate, and traditionally have to be elected District Leaders. No more.
