for those interested, this is what im given through the tube. they are actually drinkable, just meal replacement drinks, but since i refuse to eat/drink that much i don& #39;t have a choice.
each day they put three bottles of that through my tube. 237ml (365cal) x 3 = 1085cal per day. if i eat half a meal which is what they are serving me currently, i get half the bottle. if i start eating full meals, i& #39;ll get to miss the feeding tube session for that meal.
you can& #39;t feel the food go down the tube, but they do flushes before & after with water that you can feel. they always ask if i feel sick or super full once it& #39;s done, but normally i don& #39;t feel any different, maybe bloated. they feed it through with a syringe but quite slowly.
the nurses and doctors are actually lovely, and you can have really casual conversations with them. it takes 10-15 minutes to get all the liquid through and they stand there with the syringe so you get to know eachother. im still at & #39;high risk& #39; because i say suicidal stuff though
i& #39;m going to add more to this thread about my experience with a feeding tube in hospital if anyone wants to ask questions, i& #39;ll add a part about your question if it& #39;s relevant.https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="❤" title="Rotes Herz" aria-label="Emoji: Rotes Herz">
