like jc, lwj needs to touch a person to see their past, and it's, well. it's painful. so he never touches others.
when wwx touches him for the first time, pain never comes. lwj is shoked and scared of wwx bc of that.

wwx, unable to read lwj, circles around him, even more baffled

one day, wwx walks down the street, muffling the buzz of people's thoughts, when a very clear yell of 'BUNNIES!' pierces his shielded mind.
he sees lwj, standing near a pet shop, holding a toddler in his arms.
wwx's mind is just white noise at the sight.

wwx knows small children, he loves them. their soft and fragmentary and often surprisingly clever musings are not draining.
he finds that he's very comfortable in the boy's mind, and wwx can't stop himself from basking in that simple happiness of watching tiny fluffy animals.

and only when wwx practically barges into the lans (lwj wouldn't just hold a stray kid, would he? hm) does he realise that it might be lwj's kid.
lwj never touches other people.
wwx feels like an intruder watching them, until he hears a familiar, "wei ying."

'this is a-yuan," lwj says w/o preamble, "my son."
wwx looks at lwj, bouncing the boy on his hip, and ah. he wants all of it.
the boy reaches out to him, and wwx takes him in his arms without a second thought.
"you're my baba," the boy tells him suddenly.
a-yuan sees the future.
