Rail to Niger border.
Check the volume of business Nigeria can do with these countries. Asides from selling products directly to them and taking the market share, these countries have no port. China, US, France will have to use our ports when rail lines are available
Asides from displacing India, Thailand, China and the US on some aspects of trade with these landlocked countries, our ports in Calabar, Lagos, Warri, deep sea port in Akwa Ibom, Onne will be the preferred destination for exporting countries trying to get their goods to Niger.
Unfortunately, the biggest beneficiaries will be the coastal cities in the south. Ironically they are the ones bringing up pedestrian and silly comments.
Have you ever wondered how the US, France, China, Thailand and India get their exports to Mali Chad and Niger? Do you think they drop them from the sky? Investment in rail means any exporter hoping to get to sub saharan africa will have to use the Nigeria port.
More revenues at the port, more jobs, more money for shippers, more money for owners of warehouses, money money for freight forwarders, more money for haulage companies etc..
