So it’s voluntary to self isolate if told to do so by the Test & Trace app but, if you are told to self isolate by Test & Trace over the phone, it’s mandatory and you can be fined ten grand for not doing it? https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-54221953 https://twitter.com/stefsimanowitz/status/1309054487911374855
I just do not understand how this makes sense
Is this just an admission that the app doesn’t work?
Maybe. Though some apps, like Whatsapp, mark things as seen, a function it might have been smart to build in here. Relying on people to answer the phone doesn’t seem reliable to me either... https://twitter.com/metatone2/status/1309063733361115136?s=21
Thanks all for lots of good & thoughtful replies to this thread. I think, once again, the govt are sending a mixed message: self-isolation is either no big deal, or such a big deal that you can be fined a ruinous sum for not doing it properly.
