As it& #39;s been all over my timeline for 2 days now and I can& #39;t shut up as usual: a little think thread. I& #39;m aware me thinking out loud usually comes with issues but I wanna say a thing or 2 about GOMs who disappear.

Feel free to ignore me.
So I& #39;ve heard it before about 2 German GOMs and now I see Fansites having issues with an American GOM, this is where this thread is coming from. The issue is that those GOMs used to be well established but disappeared all of a sudden.
Tbh, I think literally the only excuse for disappearing like that, completely vanishing, is that you are either dead or in a coma. The work of a GOM is not glamorous, it& #39;s not paid well if at all, and it& #39;s quite masochistic most the time.
In my opinion, you still have responsibility towards the buyers though. Whether you are sick, or whether some of them are entitled assholes (happens, I mean we all know a Karen or two).

They gave you their money and their trust to handle it.
The least you can do is communiate.
IF it gets too much for you to handle, and that applies to ongoing-GOs in particular. Fucking take care of it. Get in contact with another GOM if they can handle the rest of the GO for you, you don& #39;t feel like you can handle it yourself at the moment.
Everyone has sympathy for mental health by now, really. What you cannot do though is simply disappearing into thin air, leaving your participants and the fansites high and dry. You& #39;re supposed to take care of it, to be the connection between those two, that& #39;s like the whole
point of GOM-ing?

If you quit, quit with manners.
