The Two Types of People in This World — Thread
Ones who chase the Ākhirah (Believers):
1st type of people in this world are those who live preparing & dedicating their lives to building a sufficient & lasting life in the Ākhirah (afterlife). They stray away from worldly desires & damaging temporal engagements.

Materialistic things & worldly temptations don’t interest these kinds of people. Instead, they rather study the religion, read the books, have consciousness of Allāh (Tawḥīd), & stay in a state of purity. These are the people who prefer the lasting life, over the temporary life.
Allāh (SWT) says in The Qur’ān: “And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life].” - Sūrah 93, ʾĀyah 4
Allāh says in The Qur’ān: “O mankind, indeed the promise of Allāh is the truth, so let not the worldly life delude you and be not deceived about Allāh by the Deceiver. (Shayṭān)” - Sūrah 35, ʾĀyah 5
Allāh says in The Qur’ān: “Those who attain to faith and do righteous deeds, The Gardens of Paradise will be there to welcome them.” - Sūrah 18, ʾĀyah 107
Ones who chase the dunyā (Disbelievers):
2nd type of people in this world are those who reject faith & clear signs of Allāh, to chase the worldly life that only benefits them temporarily, & degrades them eternally in the Ākhirah. They stray away from peace & eternal blessings.

Materialistic things & worldly temptations excite these people which deceives them into thinking this world is true satisfaction when it’s only temporary, & they forget true satisfaction is in the Ākhirah which is permanent. They prefer the temporary life, over the lasting life.
Allāh says in The Qur’ān: “The life of this world is nothing but the enjoyment of deception.” - Sūrah 3, ʾĀyah 185
Allāh says in The Qur’ān: “But you prefer the worldly life, while the Hereafter is more enduring.” - Sūrah 87, ʾĀyāt 16-17
Allāh says in The Qur’ān: “This life is alluring to those who reject faith & they scoff at those who believe, but the righteous will be above them on The Day of Resurrection; for Allāh bestows his abundance without measure on whom he will.” - Sūrah 2, ʾĀyah 212
Rasulullāh ﷺ said:
“I am surprised at the one chasing the world, while death chases him; I am surprised at a person having a loud, hearty laugh, while he does not know whether Allāh is pleased with him or is displeased.”

Turn to Allāh, follow his commands, & think about death. Death doesn’t care what your doing, or what you have planned, change & pursue eternal bliss before it’s too late. May Allāh guide us & protect us from Jahannam.
