We've been thinking about how we can make #SocialCEOs more inclusive this year and attract more nominees from underrepresented backgrounds. So we've made a decision.

Previously the awards have been solely for leaders of registered charities. We recognise that civil society has changed since we set up #SocialCEOs in 2013. It's about networks and movements as much as organisations.

This year we will be opening our awards out to include social enterprises, community groups and other social sector organisations, as well as charities. Our aim is still to showcase amazing digital leadership.

Our focus will only be on the social sector however. Public sector and corporate organisations have their own excellent digital leadership awards
