My favorite political ideology is Liberalism. In a country heavily influenced by the past, we’ve really been limited and unable to completely achieve liberty, equality, and freedom. We’ve been by the book for a very long time, and it’s high time for us to change that.

This ideology is grounded on liberty and equality, which encompasses freedom of speech, religion, press, civil rights, gender equality, and free markets. Moreover, it is key to a stable economy for it allows the creation of equal opportunities among the people.
However, because of the pre-dominantly Christian population, most of those ideas are not ideated, and a lot of progressive legislations are disapproved. For instance: a lot of so-called pro-life groups, and of course, the Church, meddle and are against legalizing abortion.
Their stance stems from and only conservative biblical beliefs, disregarding the fact that what people do in their lives are none of their business. And through Liberalism, that and all the aforementioned ideas can be achieved.
Liberalism, though personally, is really not applicable in the PH context, it’s still an ideology I’d to ponder on. I am all for liberty, equality, positive change, and freedom. So It’s time to stop reading book of the past, and start writing new, progressive chapters of our own.
