MMT says increasing interest rates increases inflation assuming people spend that portion of extra savings. That means reducing interest rates should reduce inflation. Any empirical evidence or data pointing to this theory? Please don't just talk about Japan or some random data
Whole MMT theory is based on evidence from Japan and US after GFC. Everyone talks about MMT taking examples like see Japan and US, no inflation even after easing MP and expansionary FP. MMT takes a lot of political economy assumptions and is not applicable across countries.
My thread on political assumptions MMT considers. MMT could be proven disastrous and i don't think most of the countries have mettle to try this. This has the potential to remain theory forever if not widely accepted across countries. https://twitter.com/ankur2728/status/1303305669723017219?s=20
