Sunday: APC is held where Nawaz Sharif’s speech hits all the (right or wrong) notes
Monday: Sheikh Rashid reveals the meeting between military and politicians on Gilgit Baltistan
By Tuesday all the focus has shifted from ppp to pmln... even though the initial leaks included some anecdotes about what BBZ had said.
By evening, a vlog by a journalist reveals that an emissary of nawaz sharif met the army chief. The emissary apparently told the army chief that the PMLN was now going to play hardball and that it wasn’t going to keep quiet any more.
It was also implied in the vlog that the PMLN’s decision was linked to the decision/information that the PTI Govt would complete its term.
Wednesday: Maryam Nawaz Sharif not only denies that any emissary met the army chief but also criticises the idea of politicians meeting the military. (While journalists are conjecturing which of the senior Noon leaders around Nawaz Sharif played the role of emissary).
By evening: the DG ISPR reveals it was M Zubair who met the army chief twice. The former doesn’t leak the story; he comes on air to speak of it himself, making sure that it can’t be denied.
And by the time the ten o clock shows roll around, everyone forgets about the PPP as the controversy envelopes one party. Only the PMLN stands embarrassed and within it, Maryam Nawaz.
If there are now protests in October, PMLN will hold them in the shadow of the these revelations while the PPP will take part in them, being thankful (to some one?) it was spared to some extent.
The maulana has also apparently held such meetings, and this was mentioned during the infamous GB meetings. Hawa nikal gayee?
