friends. Burning inside each and every one of you is a love of country and the democracy upon which it was laid, a flame that flickers on, even in the dead of night. I’ve seen it in the faces of the women, the activists, whose lives have criss-crossed with mine over the past few

years. The tireless, nameless people who have been doing the work, pounding pavement, year after year, resisting, organizing, marching, registering, voting. I saw it in the history we made in 2018, in the tears we wept for the passing of a legend and a hero. I can’t tell you what

will happen in the coming weeks. This is not going to be easy. But the arc of the moral universe does bend towards justice. I believe that. We do not despair. We breathe. We rise. Together. I’m not done fighting, and I know you’re not either.
