Sorry but I keep thinking about Scooby doo and how *finger kiss* it would be to write a book about them solving crimes in the summer of their senior year before college. Stopping at gas stations on the road between towns. Watching the sun go down. Puppy piles in the van.

Talking about why theyâre spending their Gap Year taking down greedy capitalists. Shaggy calling Fred âFreddieâ in the pale early morning light. Daphne napping on Scoobyâs shoulder. Velma and Fred having heart to hearts abt yearning for adventure
The rush of solving a case, piling into the van, giggling, drunk on triumph. Speeding out of a town with no name, chasing the sun as it rises in the east.
I have so many ideas. So much tenderness. Please let me write this Scholastic.

The bitter sweet yearning as they talk about maybe going to school the next year. Theyâve all applied
. But they donât want to let go: let each other go, let the adventure go. Theyâve saved like 5 towns this summer from greedy property developers & vengeful museum owners, etc.

Okay Iâm gently crying... imagine them each, throughout the book, secretly delaying their college semesters, then at the end of the book fitfully admitting that they pushed their schooling back to stay in the mystery machine. Imagine them hugging and not wanting to let go.
