Soon after Trump stole...err, I mean won the last election, someone I once considered a mentor called me. This is a Black pastor who was, and still is, near and dear to my heart. He called to give me a “word” from the Lord.

The word was something like, God is going to use Trump to overturn Roe vs Wade, and gay marriages. He told me to be very careful about “putting my mouth on Trump” as he is the anointed and called of God.

Apparently this pastor was led by God to call everyone he knew in ministry to give them this “word”. So, I asked some questions. Some tough questions: Is God overlooking Trump’s wickedness? Is God overlooking Trump’s racist past, his greed? Are you sure God told you this?

The pastor didn’t care about any of that and essentially God didn’t care about any of that either. What’s my point in all of this?

Many Christians believe this with 100% of their being. They want abortion rights and same sex marriages overturned so badly, they’ll support EVERYTHING Trump is doing and is planning to do because they believe God “ordained” it.

Trump could bring back slavery and they’ll support it because they believe it’s from God. Trump could have people killed, and they’ll still support him because it must have been God’s will.

Trump could end democracy as we know it (), taking all our rights (), and they’ll still support Trump because he’s God’s chosen vessel. This is why Trump is so brazen in what he does. He knows he can get away with literally anything.

These Christians believe it’s a sin to be anything other than a Republican. They think Christians like me aren’t really Christians. They think we’re wicked. They believe we condone abortion (we don’t). They don’t believe we “hear” from the Lord.

I simply want to show the love of Christ to the world. I want people to know the REAL Jesus, not the fake one that many people show. People want to focus on particular “sins” while simultaneously covering or ignoring their own.

Oh and by the way, I haven’t heard from my pastor friend since the day we spoke in 2016. BTW - If you’re in ministry and heard stuff similar to this, comment and let me know (especially if Nebuchadnezzar came into the conversation ).
