Tomorrow the Liberals will push 1.8 million people below the poverty line by slashing the coronavirus supplement. At the same time they're planning more tax cuts for the rich.

Here's a thread of Aus PMs with billionaires and some income support facts. (Gina Rinehart, $15.3b)
With the stroke of a pen, ScoMo is more than halving the $550 a fortnight supplement. This cuts Youth Allowance too. And don't forget that Scott Morrison left disabled people and carers entirely out of the COVID stimulus package.

(Harry Triguboff, $9.3b)
With income support above the poverty line in recent months, recipients have reported eating properly for the first time in years, being able to find proper housing and a sense of security they didn't have before.

That's all being ripped away tomorrow. (Anthony Pratt, $7.2b)
After tomorrow, a single JobSeeker will only have about $255 a fortnight to pay for food, bills and transport after paying rent. That's a budget of just $18 a day.

(Maybe we could tax Frank Lowy's $6.5b and keep people out of poverty? Idk.)
How about those tax cuts? It won't stun you to know they will overwhelmingly benefit those on high salaries.

Oh and if stages two and three of the Libs plan are brought forward, men would get $2.19 for every $1 women benefit.

(Andrew Forrest, $5.4b)
I should say, all the billionaire wealth figures are US dollars. Do your own maths if you can manage it without vomiting.
The thing is, when you cut the rich's taxes, they pocket the money. When you raise income support, people spend it.

Experts reckon cutting the supplement tomorrow will gut the Australian economy of $31 billion.

(Two PM pics for James Packer and his $3.6b)
The pandemic won't end when the year does. Neither will the recession. But the Liberals are still planning on cutting the supplement entirely and forcing recipients to live on $40 a day again from Jan 1.

(Lindsay Fox, $3.5b, does not live on $40 a day)
No one in a country as wealthy as Australia should be living in poverty. That means income support should be above the poverty line.

Australia's billionaires have INCREASED their wealth this year. They and tax-dodging corporations should be coughing up.

(Kerry Stokes, $2.9b)
The Government should be prioritising the more than one million people without work.

We need to invest in income support, job-creation, the care economy, nation-building infrastructure, not giving tax cuts to those that don't need extra support.

(Clive Palmer, $1.8bn)
Cutting the supplement tomorrow is nothing short of cruelty. Morrison would know this if he stopped hanging out with the (mostly white, mostly male) uber-rich and spoke with the people affected.
