(reposting because of some problems on my part)
I've been on r/choosingbeggar for some time, and now I cannot take it anymore.
Here's what I have to say.
People have been trying to get professional artists to draw them for free when they clearly stated that they charge money.
How entitled are you to claim that just because you have 200k followers you deserve free art.
They charge you cause they have bills to pay you moron.
And some claims that what people like @JaidenAnimation do is not a true profession.
I mean am I the only one thinking that the respect for art is fading away?
Art and literature are being disrespected by ignorant who know next to nothing about the talent it takes to either do animation or write a story.
Just because I'm not working on minimum wage in a retail store doesn't mean I don't have ambition in life. In fact I find this kind of paid labour quite insulting to the intellect that we Terran have.
Art is a big and important aspect of any civilization/culture and it represents who we are.
I've tried to write novels since I was 14, it takes a lot of patience (which I'm trying to get) and there is a big difference between writing and reading a book.
I realized that not everyone will sit down and take the time to read. But when I see morons saying we're not true "professionals" I just feel down. Just because you don't have any talent doesn't mean you should insult those who does, you're not helping and you're not entitled.
Anyway, I started this thread just to tell the world that artists deserves more respect than what they're getting. Reddit has taught me a lot of things and I needed to take a moment and talk about it on twitter.
