Kalimantan is the largest island in Indonesia.
Here are some of its exotic wild fruits and vegetables.
Unfortunately, these fruits and vegs population has been decreased these past decades, because of the massive deforestation.

Left : Durian.
Right : Kusik/Wild Red Durian.
Two different fruits with different taste/texture/aroma. Although these two look very alike.
Tampui.
Sweet, sour and very unique.
Kembayau fruit.
Soak kembayau in hot water for 5 minutes, add a pinch of salt. Then rinse. Kembayau is one of my favorite wild fruit.
Rambusa/markisa hutan/wild rambusa/Maria Maria. Containing a lil bit poison when it's raw. But the poison dissapear when this wild fruit is ripe, and it will taste very sweet. Sweeter than your ex' empty promises. 🤣🤣🤣
Kacang kasumba/Red Yardlong Beans. Very unique and contains more nutrition than common green yardlong beans.
Location : Pasar traditional Palangkaraya/traditional market in Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan.
Umbut rotan/singkah uwei rattan young stalk, tastes bitter but with a right cooking methods, it will taste savoury with bitter after taste. And somehow it could increase appetite. Usually cooked in spiced coconut milk, seasoned with turmeric, shallot, garlic, salt & shrimp paste
Sulur lengkuas / Galangal young stalk. Usually cooked with sambal or spicy condiment made from chili or cooked with fresh water fish.
Terung intaluk/hintalu. Hintalu or intaluk means egg. Terung is eggplant. Kalimantan people call it terung intaluk because it looks like egg.
Averrhoa carambola/belimbing api or belimbing merah or red starfruit/wild starfruit, tastes sour and sweet.
