Aaand... the @dcpublicschools survey results about potentially changing their budget model. 402 survey takers, about half came from parents. https://twitter.com/betsyjwolf/status/1298068018891759616
Let's look to see which schools had the highest number of survey takers... Nope, not surprised.
And let's look at ward of survey takers. Most responses from Ward 3, which is consistent with the list of schools that had the highest number of survey takers.
And here's the one we're interested in... which budget option do you prefer? 62% said combo, 22% said student-based budgeting model, and 17% said comprehensive staffing model.
Assuming all survey takers answered every question, 22% for student-based budgeting model is 88 survey takers, which could have easily come from Ward 3 survey takers alone. Can we see the breakdown to this question by school or ward? But we know the answer to that is No.
Keep this in mind when you see the press releases. And you can see some truth telling in the comments here: https://publicinput.com/Report/ktad5ce20lm
Here's a good one... "This presentation seems like another slick exercise to claim community input before doing something unpopular with the budget."
