The last shred of innocence I had died with the reports of Elijah McClain and Breonna Taylor for those who care. The thought of white people in a massive way arising and protecting us, listening to our pleas for help died this summer
Hearing Elijah’s last words for mercy will haunt me for the rest of my life. Knowing some still won’t be able to even say our bodies matter fills me with a grief and a depression I will never be able to articulate
I have already been grieving a death close to me this past week while also thinking about the many white people I have called friend who have remained silent on Black death. It has deepened my mourning. Now this news over Breonna. Christ be near
It will take a miracle from God to revive my perspective. Sure there are individuals I have come to love and trust, but there are whole demonic agendas supporting a man in the White House committed to harming us. It’s too much
Lastly, some will preach sermons this Sunday in a quaint nice way as if nothing has happened and there are just...no words for that.
