Sharing a story in hopes that someone who reads it can help me. I filed for unemployment in NJ in March and have not been paid yet. The rest of the story is in reverse order. Today I faxed @GovMurphy @PhilMurphyNJ @VanDrewForNJ @CongressmanJVD @NJDOLCommish

Fax was a followup to the appeal I sent @NJDOLCommish which was received as certified mail 9/4/20... 3 weeks ago

The appeal was in response to 2 escalation requests with @NJDOLCommish not going through. One agent chatted with escalations dept while I was on the phone. Dept person said my claim was not paid because I did not work in NJ.

Congress created #PUA for people like me and other #models and #actors who have clients across the country and work by contract. Even when I work in NJ I am probably being paid by an out of state agency or production company.

NJ has one of the highest unemployment benefit rates in the country on top of being one of the only states that does not tax unemployment! I live in #NJ and pay taxes here, making me eligible state services.

A model friend in VA applied in PA because VA would not pay her. An actor friend in NJ applied in NY because NJ would not approve him. PA and NY approved them immediately. I don’t want to do that because NJ has the best benefit and it is where I live!

The most frustrating thing is I am out of ideas. After escalation and appeal, what do you to fight for #unemployment/ #PUA

Men and women in congress fought hard for gig workers like me to be included in the stimulus bill. I am not entitled however I am eligible for a certain service. Please #help @GovMurphy @PhilMurphyNJ @VanDrewForNJ @CongressmanJVD @NJDOLCommish
