Today is more of the same— cries for justice, claims of justice—ad infinitum ad nauseam! I am hurting as I watch humanity continually floundering in frustration, seeking outside of Christ what can only be found in Him. 😞
I have to remind myself that ...👇🏽
despite the prevalence of the gospel and the witness of the true church in America (for which I am grateful), this nation, biblically speaking, is one of “the nations”—no more, no less. She’s God-made, God kept, and will be God-judged. 👇🏽
The nations “rage and . . . plot in vain.” Along with “the kings of the earth and the rulers” they “take counsel together, against the LORD and against his Anointed, saying, ‘Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us’ ( Ps 2:1-3).
In other words. . . 👇🏽
America, along with other nations, often does what’s right in her own eye.

She has claimed to be “under God” but historically and presently much calls this into question. And though God has “shed his [common] grace on thee”(for which I am grateful), there’s no boast! We know👇🏽
it “rains on the just and unjust alike” (Matt 5:45). It’s not our righteousness that has resulted in our prosperity. Despite the American exceptionalism that has been globally recognized, and only possible with the contributions of the marginalized and disenfranchised. . .👇🏽
America has often struggled with the basics such as “loving neighbors as oneself.” Our nation has always struggled with providing “liberty and justice for ALL.”
So I continue to look to the “the hills from whence cometh my help.” My help comes from the Lord.
And I continue to anticipate the success of the true church of whom it has been promised —“the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” ( Matt 16:18).

With each act of injustice (perceived and real), and all the human reactions (righteous or not), it’s clear that👇🏽
America the beautiful is not God’s “anointed,” she is in need of his Him. As Yahweh has declared, “I have set my King on Zion” (Ps 2:6).

Jesus is that king and his church his ambassadors sent to proclaim Him (2 Cor 5:20). So as one of his ambassadors I will say to all nations:
“O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, for his wrath is quickly kindled. Blessed are all who take refuge in him” (Ps 2:10-12).
