Is it wrong for me to think that lavery and Lewis just come off incredibly badly here? Like, to me and my baby brain, it just seems like they’re mad that people are taking their words literally

Like a lot of Lewis’s thread is being blown out of proportion but not this like come onnnnnnnn. It seems like a total misdirection to get bogged down in the various uses of the word “erotic” when this is happening like come on u cannot seriously be shocked people are pushing back

One thing to talk about the inherent eroticism of octopuses. That’s pretty banal tbh. Quite old hat. Taking a real person and a real octopus and making it about the tentacle sex painting,,,,,,,HMMMMMM

And then this interview is just eye rolls all around. At one point she talks about “terfs for bernie”,,,,,,,what is going on here

Idk. I am not cynical enough or maybe too credulous to believe this thread was intentionally designed to be inflammatory and the confused shock that followed was manufactured but like

At the very least all of this reveals that these people are just wildly out of touch and have theorized themselves to a point where they’re totally detached from reality, and rly should not be trusted to write or think about queerness in a material sense

Doing all this because I’ve been unable to set up a psychiatrist appointment, none of the jobs I’ve applied for have called back, and I’m generally feeling lonely and hopeless
