A few years ago, during Sue's cancer treatment, she met an amazing Radiation Therapist @AmandaBoldersto. Sue and Amanda met in less-than-ideal circumstances, but out of that something amazing happened:

So when Amanda needed some help with a new project, she contacted Sue. The project was a research-driven initiative to provide much needed support for LGBTQ2+ people living with cancer. Amanda's research partners were (and remain) Meghan McInnis and Evan Taylor.

The project's objectives are to provide a wide range of information, support and stories related to LGBTQ2+ cancer -- in a patient- and caregiver-centred way.

So we three met at a lunch place on Main Street for me to meet Amanda and talk about the project. It was obvious that the researchers felt very strongly about the need for this project, and very quickly Sue and I saw that we could help in a meaningful way.

So we struck the project, did extensive consultations including involving patient partners, and built a searchable database, collaboration space, story library and website.

...and we named it Queering Cancer!
