We are encouraged by the commitments to #healthcare made by @liberal_party in today’s Speech from the Throne. The areas of attention for the ongoing #pandemic response are welcome and affirming the long-term goals is reassuring.

2/7
The reaffirmation of #VirtualCare, #PPE availability, increased #MentalHealth resources, enhanced testing capacity and development of a safe reliable #vaccines as priorities are all relevant and necessary to prepare #Canada to continue the fight against #COVID19.

3/7
We applaud the commitment to making #FamilyDoctors accessible to everyone in Canada. We will keep working with the government to achieve this goal. A robust #PrimaryCare base enabled by a committed #FamilyPhysician workforce is a solid foundation for any health care system.

4/7
The government’s work towards a universal national #pharmacare plan is commendable and we look forward to specific tangible steps to ensure universal access to necessary #medication for all in Canada.

5/7
We recognize and appreciate the lens of #AntiRacism and #AntiDiscrimination that was applied to today’s Speech from the Throne and encourage the @liberal_party to follow through with this approach, including concrete plans to create a more equitable and just society.

6/7
While the commitments in today’s Speech from the Throne are an excellent start, the execution of these principles and working to achieve tangible progress will be the ultimate measure of long-term success.
