A successful, super rich actress who tom-toms about her commercial success akin to the most popular among male co-stars seeking refuge of safety in taxpayers’ paid govt. security doesn’t go down well with logic - feminist and/or financial prudence.

I will explain. (Thread)
First,no one in the taxpayers’ hard earned money led govt. should be for responsible for any private citizens’ irresponsible&malicious statements.

Second,if one makes a conscious &informed choice to speak, one must be wo/man enough to defend what one says without playing victim.
Third, the fact that she is a gutsy woman can not be used as a license to twist the question of illegality of construction to personal victimisation alone. For all moral grandstanding, why not put out papers in the public domain&then continue with the praiseworthy personal might?
Fourth, please spare us sermons about women concerns &sudden love for cultural issues. Anyone, INCLUDING MYSELF, talking about nationalism post 2014 should be asked questions on what one did to serve National Interests prior to 2014.

Using ‘nepotism’ to mask ‘opportunism’?
There are many nationalist National Award winning Actors/resses who rebelled with a cause &stand tall empowering many other women alongside.
I am uncomfortable with Nationalism being usurped by loud &ill spoken, irrational, hysterical humans &being expected to cheer for them.
Fifth, many in the industry came from nothing, didn’t pay obeisance to the mafia &were achievers. They let their craft speak for them. Those who use words (unless you are in the business of playing with them!) more than their actual work, expose the shallowness of what they do.
Sixth, no one is barred from practising politics in India. But to be absolutely impervious to criticism and expect everyone to cheerlead however problematic the politics is is dangerous.

We are in the process of building a New India &rusted ways must be ousted. 🙏
Seventh, average cinema can not be peppered with rehearsed statements on popular sentiments to make it brilliant.
