Basically they started of with a group of 600 asymptomatics

Started off at 6% and it grew to 47% seroprevalence

This is a very big deal

Alex breaks it down very well here:

Remember that time I said that there was higher pre-existing immunity in East Asia, South East Asia and Oceana?

Remember when I said mask wearing and mitigation could not account for the major differences?

Why is this?

I think it’s proximity to wet markets and handling wild animals/bushmeat -> Bats are one example

Coronaviruses easily jump back and forth between animals/humans

Wild animals provide more diversity of harmless CVs that circulate in the region

Remember that time I said there were real problems with the testing and that we aren’t able to measure how many people had actually been infected?

Remember when I said that despite clinical inefficiency, there was valuable data in the over-sensitive PCR testing?

Remember that time I told you there were tons of asymptomatics that we can only detect with the high cycle threshold PCR because AB titers in these people decreases quickly?

Remember that time I said that most of NYC had already been infected despite only 20% seroprevalence?

I guess I wasn’t crazy after all!
