Today is Bi-Visibility day. I don't want to take up too much time over shadowing those who are bi and are using today to be seen. I see you, I love you, I will hold you up.

But there is an insidious issue with in the LGBT communities that needs to be addressed. Bi erasure. 1/?
This isn't something new, its been going on as long as i can remember / have been out / active in queer communities and it happens everywhere. There is this auto response, particular withing gay and lesbian sections that bi folk have this magic ability to "straight present" 2/?
There's this insane line of thought that by being able to present straight, Bi ppl have it easy. They can some how magically avoid the homophobia and hatred queer presenting LGTQ+ have. It's simply not true, and as a queer woman we have to stand up and stop this together. 3/?
Being bi doesnt mean you're not getting your ass beat at home for being queer. It doesnt mean you can't be sexually abused because "you like both." It doesnt mean that homophobia isnt present in straight presenting relationships. Being Bi isnt a magic shield against homophobia 3?
and yet for decades the rest of the Queer community has seen it as such. It needs to stop. We all, as a queer community need to do better. We cannot move forward, when we're holding each other down. Days like today are important and we must use them to lift our friends. 4/?
So to my bi brothers and sisters, I see you, I hear you. I will fight for you. The queer community has for too long been allowed to get away with its internalized homophobia. Its time to stand together, and raise our bi brethren in our hearts. We See You. You Are Loved. Deets x
