Rangers & Celtic in England - a thread.
I've placed Rangers and Celtic in the Championship (they replaced two of the worst teams in the league). As you can see Celtic are the clear favourites but Rangers should be up there.
Halfway through the first season and it's going fairly meh for both teams. Celtic really should be in the automatic places and Rangers really should be in the playoffs. However, it's there first season in England. It takes a lot of time to acclimatise to Stoke away.
The Rangers board, however, clearly think that this is not good enough. They've clearly placed an emphasis on results over style with their replacement
End of the first season and The Bhoys can celebrate! It may not have been the most convincing win, but they've come away with the title at the first time of asking.

The Gers will have to spend another season in the Sky Bet after a loss against eventual PO winners Swansea.
Second season transfers!

Rangers don't spend that much, but that doesn't matter when you get Almada on a loan.

Celtic spend £80 million, notably picking up Jack O'connell. They aren't here to mess about.
Second season preview. Rangers still have more than enough to get promoted and Celtic are predicted to finish mid table. They'll probably take that given the Premier League TV money.
Half way through the second season. Allardyce's Rangers are just about clinging to a playoff spot and Celtic are trundling along nicely in the place they were predicted to finish.
End of the second season. Rangers miss out yet again in the playoffs 😭 Celtic finish 13th. Respectable for their first season in the Prem but they'll be looking to kick on
3rd season transfers.

Rangers have snapped. They've spent £40m in the Championship. No messing.

Celtic spend £55m. Notable signings= Kurt Zouma and James Milner.
If you're interested. These are their squads at the start of the third season.
Halfway through the third season. Rangers are STILL in the playoffs. Celtic are suffering from second season syndrome!
End of the third season. Celtic survive by the skin of their teeth. Phew!

Rangers go into the lottery of the playoffs again! But this time they make it through!!! Leeds vs Rangers in the Playoff final has to go down as one of the greatest ever spectacles.
Also, Southampton got relegated and qualified for Europa League lmao
Before we start the fourth season, big announcement. Sam Allardyce has said his work here is done and after getting Rangers promoted he resigns.

Stale Solbakken, who managed Wolves in 2012, is his replacement.
Fourth season transfers. Rangers only spend £27m after getting promoted. Clearly feeling the impact of England's COVID measures now they've moved.

Celtic, however, spend £71m. They clearly don't want to be dragged into another relegation battle.
Fourth season preview. Well, you can see for yourselves what they predict. Have Rangers got enough to survive?
Half way through the fourth season and it is tight at the bottom. 6 points seperate 11th and 18th- both Celtic and Rangers are stuck in a relegation battle.
I can't believe it 😂😂😂 both Rangers and Celtic have got to the League Cup final.

In what can only be described as a battle, Rangers are the first team to win silverware in England!!! Unbelievable scenes in their first season in the Prem.
Rangers' celebrations are short lived though. Celtic finish comfortably mid table and Rangers are relegated on goal difference😭
Fifth season transfers. Celtic look to push on as they spend £86m.. including over £30m on Vogue model Hector Bellerin.

Rangers aren't resting on their laurels either, as they spend £26m.
Half way through the fifth season. Celtic are painfully average. I guess its an improvement on being in a relegation battle.

In other news, Rangers are no longer dicking around with the playoffs.
And that's mainly how the fifth season ends.

Rangers smash the Championship out of the park and Celtic finish mid table.

Tbh, it's really about time that Celtic start pushing for Europe. They've now had four years of Barclays £££
Both teams are back together in the Premier League and it is all action! Celtic spend £100m, notably bringing in Joe Willock and Justin Kluivert.

Rangers are spending way more than they have before now as well. Their board has clearly had enough with being a yo yo club.
Oh no, Rangers have done a Fulham😂 Despite spending £75m they are planted to the bottom of the table.

Celtic are STILL mid-table. When will this end!
End of the fifth season. Celtic = mid table. Rangers = embarrassed
After that abysmal season, Rangers have sacked Solbakken and brought in a proven Championship manager... Simone Inzaghi.
Sixth season transfers. Celtic spend £60m and Rangers spend £39m. Rangers notably sign Hojberg.
Celtic are finally pushing for Europe. Its taken five years but halfway through the season and they're ahead of Arsenal.

Unsurprisingly, Rangers (the new Norwich) are in and amongst it at the top of the Championship.
However, Simon Inzaghi's aren't dicking around with the playoffs... that's right, they're missing them altogether by crumbling and finish 7th😔

Celtic are then robbed of their first chance in Europe as Arsenal win the F.A Cup.

It's not going well for either. What a cruel world
7th SEASON!!

Celtic sign Reiss Nelson and Ki Jana Hoever.

Rangers sign Ben White... who finally gets his move to a big club.
Both teams squads at the start of the seventh season, if you're interested.
Half way through the seventh season. Rangers are right at the top of the Championship. Celtic are sniffing around the European places.
Celtic sadly can't keep it up and they fall to another season of mediocrity.

Rangers finish in the playoffs....and win it!!! In extra time. Harry Wilson's name rings around Ibrox as he scores the winning goal in the 103rd minute of the playoff final!!
THAT'S ALL I HAVE SO FAR. I'LL SIMULATE 20 SEASONS AND UPDATE THIS WHEN I'M DONE
Btw, seven seasons in and Neil Lennon is still Celtic manager. No change there
