I've seen this point made by other, much smarter people, but it's worth emphasizing. While the Supreme Court should be considered when voting for POTUS and US Senate, it can also be part of the equation when voting in local legislative races.
There is a policy firewall of sorts that we can build around Delaware to protect from the damaging effects of court decisions being sought by the Trump Admin and the GOP. That's what we've done with legislation codifying Roe v. Wade and elements of the ACA in Delaware.
We're going to need to do more of that since a 6-3 conservative majority seems probable. Larger majorities here at home will help us continue to build that firewall and protect Delawareans who are at risk of being harmed by the decisions of an activist conservative court.
So yes, vote for Joe Biden and Senate Dems to stop McConnell and Trump from controlling court appointments. But also help get more Dems elected locally so we can put policies in place that can counter a conservative SCOTUS attempting to legislate from the bench.
TL;DR if you're worried about SCOTUS, it should motivate you to vote for folks like @KyleEvansGay, @stephanie4DE, @spirosforthe7th, @vote_debbie, and other down ballot @Deldems looking to flip state legislative seats as much as it does for @ChrisCoonsforDE and @JoeBiden.
