To have the utterly venomous Allison Pearson, card-carrying denigrator of ethnic minorities & vulnerable groups, & spouter of bigotry as a judge for their fiction prize brings @LucyCavColl into disrepute. For shame.

Vividly remember my first and only formal hall at Lucy Cavendish. The eminent feminist sitting next to me leaned over and said (of the undergraduates filing in): 'They look like tarts on a night off'.
And please don't be, like Lucy Cavendish College, that white woman at Cambridge who insists gender is still a big area of concern but race--or class-- is not. Actual quote.
Frankly, by virtue of association, it brings the entirety of Cambridge University into disrepute. What chance to women writers of colour, transwomen, and others really have? Makes a mockery of the university's declarations of inclusivity and anti-racism.
Having one (I think) obligatory and token woman of colour on the panel doesn't neutralize having spouters of racism on it. Again, a Cambridge college ends up making a mockery of declarations of inclusivity and equality.
Also shameful that people didn't stand up and refuse to work alongside bigotry.
At this rate, we may as well get Piers Morgan to give the next Race Equality lecture
Did Lucy Cavendish also put out a pious Black Lives Matter solidarity statement? Or were they more honest and not bother?
