If I'm a Dem elected official, after everything I've seen/read in past 48 hours, I'm begging all my constituents to vote in-person if able (early or Election Day), and urging everyone else to hand-deliver their absentee ballots to the clerk's office.

Given all we know about this president delegitimizing the electoral process, historians are gonna look back and wonder why the hell Dems invested so heavily in the one thing (mail voting) that could cause mass counting delays, mass disqualifications, and mass chaos.

Covid-19 is not a good answer. Nearly every state offers early voting, either in-person or absentee drop-off. Also, Dr. Fauci has said physically voting is safe. What should have been stressed as a last resort, mail voting, was celebrated as a cause. Dems may come to regret that.
