1) There's a lot of interesting data on the website for the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) headquartered in Paris.
2) An interesting chart shows the percentage of women in the governments of the organization's member states. The US ranks near the bottom at 16.7% while countries like Slovenia, Canada, Sweden, and France have a percentile that is above 50.
3) To find the chart go to http://www.oecd.org/  and click on the "Topics" tab at the link above and then select the subtopic, "Public Governance."
4) The GOP has not made electing women a priority. This chart shows the disparity between Democrat and Republican women participation in Congress. It is taken from the article in the final post of this thread.
5) An example of the GOP's positions on women is Tom Cotton. He insisted on a "covenant" marriage with his wife, which limits the grounds for seeking divorce. He voted against reauthorizing the Violence Against Women Act, saying that the federal powers in the act were too broad.
