Let's talk about the idea of soul ties. I cant tell you how damaging this "cutting soul ties" was to my marriage for many years. We both always thought we ruined our futures because we had sex before marriage. That our marriage would have been Rock Star level if we'd waited.

My husband and I were highschool sweethearts. I moved in with his family in grade 11. I lived in a foster home at the time. Our attachment was strong.

When we got "saved" there were many years, at least 10, where we both had regret for having sex early cause were were taught that we screwed up and missed Gods plan for us. I cannot tell you just how angry that makes me.

To have spent at least 10 years "repenting" for something so stupid and feeling like we started off wrong. And if we started off right God would have blessed us even more. FFS. This is so gross!

As I get free from evangelical teaching things like this piss me off. My marriage is 100% awesome. Sure we have ups and downs (not just in the bedroom ) but to have that seed planted where you missed Gods mark for your marriage is loathsome.

Christian woo hoo teaching about the soul bonding in sex just needs to stop. Sex can simply be sex. Bonding can happen outside of sex. Theres so much to the human experience that cannot be boiled down to one way of being.
