Today, a new report is launched looking at services available to young people who self harm.

Existing support is not good enough. https://twitter.com/samaritans/status/1308680904886419456
Recommendation 1 - anyone who requires support should get it.
Recommendation 2 - invest in community based self harm prevention services, like @HarmlessUK
Recommendation 3 - young people should not wait lengthy times for help - early intervention is key.
Recommendation 4 - increase planned investment in existing services for young people, like @HarmlessUK
Recommendation 5 - sure financial footing for third sector services, like @HarmlessUK and @lifevssuicide
Recommendation 6 - education settings should have increased mental health resources.
Recommendation 7 - more collaborative working to support integrated care systems and local authorities to improve access to services.
Recommendation 8 - training for front line workers. @letstalknlearn offer this - reach out to them.
Recommendation 9 - services need to be easier to navigate for our young people.
Recommendation 10 - coproduction should be at the heart of every service and should be a condition of funding.
Recommendation 11 - services and commissioners need to work together to ensure young people get better support online.
Recommendation 12 - real time surveillance is a must.
Recommendation 13 - ask what the young people think and want. This is vital.
Services like @HarmlessUK are on the front line, offering vital support to people when they need it.

We have a training team and we have suicide crisis and suicide bereavement services too.
We need to do better and won’t stop working until we do ⭐️
