Solihull Moors - a thread @SolihullMoors

Solihull Moors are doing everything they can to adapt to these unprecedented circumstances in an attempt to get matches on and keep the football club going.

#LetUsPlay
Moors, at ridiculously short notice, face the prospect of putting on hold a season they've been preparing for & effectively pre-paying for for months. Pre-season training's in full swing & the squad's signed up in readiness for another National League promotion push.
But instead of kicking footballs in non league football's top division on October 3 they are now left kicking their heels - indefinitely. They're not asking for special treatment at a time when the country is battening down the hatches to control the second wave of Covid.
Moors don't want to be treated differently from Aston Villa, Birmingham City, Wolves, West Bromwich Albion or any of their bigger neighbours. They want to be treated exactly the same.
Those at Damson Park are well acquainted with this week's developments and the rules stating supporters will not be allowed back in stadiums any time soon. They're not asking for that.
Moors are looking for bright & creative solutions of their own, exploring ways of live-streaming matches to protect at least some of the revenue so vital to a club of their means.
Ongoing efforts continue behind the scenes to make sure the stadium is ready and able to host behind-closed-doors matches, with all the social distancing restrictions and protocols that brings.
Let's not pretend otherwise, Moors & rivals across the country need the show to go on. Otherwise Jimmy Shan's men face the unthinkable prospect of a full calendar year without fixtures. "This is clearly not sustainable for a football club," is the club's understandable response.
Moors have made formal representation to the National League board urging them to kick off the season as scheduled a week on Saturday. Under the #LetUsPlay hashtag they are trying to gain support from football fans everywhere to help make this request a reality.
As we get wrapped up in the hype of the Premier League and the Championship each and every week, the lifeblood of our communities, clubs like Solihull Moors, often slip through the cracks. But not now.
Regardless of your allegiances, give a local club that doesn't ask a lot all the support you can by sharing the #LetUsPlay hashtag and making as much noise as you can to provide a lifeline Solihull Moors desperately need. https://www.solihullmoorsfc.co.uk/news/club-statement--letusplay-2570935.html
