Sequence of events.

Debate and Vote for Agri reforms bill scheduled on Sunday. Agreed by all parties.

1. RS scheduled to end at 1pm.

2. Few minutes before 1pm, GoI recommended extension of session because Minister was anyway replying and next step is voting.

3. Some opposition parties (note, not all) did NOT agree for an extension of the session. This is a normal practice. They wanted to postpone to next day.

4. Govt didn't agree, because debate is already over and minister is replying to it.

5. Opposition rushed to well.

(2/n)
6. Started their hooliganism in the well. They demanded division of votes while SHOUTING IN THE WELL.

7. Dy Chairman asked them 13 times to go back to their desks. THIRTEEN TIMES.

8. Hooliganism increased. Broke mikes, tore rule book, tried to attack Dy Chairman

9. Dy Chairman announces passage of bills through voice vote amidst this violent behavior.

If MPs stood at their desk & demanded voting, Dy Chairman had to allow for voting.

All they had to do was go back to seat and demand division AFTER minister replied.

So ,dear woke people who are worried about democracy, here is what happened:

Your favorite parties did NOT allow a minister to reply to a debate that was already over. Democratic? Really?

(5/n)
Woke people who are worried that in 21st century digital age, about not using simple technology like a switch to collect votes:

You have to be AT YOUR SEAT TO PRESS THAT SWITCH. Not dance and become violent in the well of the house.

(6/n)
Woke people worried about stifling of opposition voice, muting of RSTV - A 3.5 hour debate happened. Opposition SPOKE. Then they STOPPED the minister from replying.

RSTV was muted after they started getting violent. If you are sad you missed on the entertainment, tough luck.
