can we all agree that Halsey is the artist (AND PERSON) of 2020? (a thread)

she began the year with her HIGHLY anticipated third album Manic, which sold 239K units IN THE FIRST WEEK ALONE and debuted #1! the album contains the most streamed Solo Female Song of 2020 (You should be sad), and it contains a new side of Halsey and a new side of her voice.

THEN, she goes on her Manic Europe Tour and finishes RIGHT before the quarantine. she ALSO sold out the O2. during quarantine, she’s released her Part Of Your World and Mr. President covers, live performances, AND A LIVE VERSION OF HER DEBUT ALBUM BADLANDS WITH NEW VOCALS.

she’s also been setting the bar for her peers in the industry! Manic is the FIRST album from 2020 to be certified RIAA Platinum AND have 1 BILLION STREAMS BEFORE IT’S RELEASE! ONE. BILLION. she also is the first female artist with THREE SONGS over 1 Billion streams on Spotify!

she has a poetry book coming in November called “I Would Leave Me If I Could”. she’s also featured on three HUGE songs this year (The Other Girl by Kelsea Ballerini, Be Kind by Marshmello, and Life’s A Mess by Juice WRLD). she also did a song for Birds Of Prey (Experiment On Me)

in addition, she announced recently that she’s making her acting debut in the near future with Sydney Sweeny, who plays Cassie in the Emmy-nominated show Euphoria!

finally, Halsey was named one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2020! she was nominated BY BTS. BTS. ARGUABLY THE BIGGEST MUSIC GROUP IN THE WORLD. this was OBVIOUSLY well deserved. and there’s still more to come when her book is released in November!
