I have issues with little things that are out of my control, and despite knowing they’re out of my control I try to solve the problem anyway. It’s a lot of energy out, and usually a “me” thing.

But, bear with me through this thread, because sometimes the universe delivers.
I moved into a new apartment 3 years ago, and discovered that the under-counter dishwasher was missing a wheel from the lower pull-out dish rack. I makes an annoying clunk every time dishes are loaded and unloaded, so I asked the landlord for a new wheel. He did not understand.
So, I showed him the spot where the wheel should be and showed him the clunk. He countered by showing me how to lift the rack as I pull the rack, effectively bypassing the clunk.

I get it. It’s a me thing, not a him thing. And it’s an older dishwasher.
I’ve gone to Home Depot and tried to buy a replacement wheel, but the new wheels sold at Home Depot aren’t a match for older models. There’s a clip on mine.

I’ve submitted several maintenance requests, but the answer from my LLC is always “We don’t have that part in stock.”
I’ve seen dishwashers pulled from apartment renovations in my neighborhood, even from my own complex, and I’ve obsessively checked inside them for spare wheels to harvest, but the wheels are never a match to my unit.

I’m the guy opening curbside dishwashers.
So it’s with great satisfaction to share that today, after three years of annoying clunks, I saw TWO dishwashers on the curb on my street. I couldn’t stop myself from opening them up to check, and I found that one of them had wheels that matched! 🤩
But of course I’m cursed (aka obsessed and crazy) and found that despite now having a complete set of wheels on my lower dishwasher rack...there’s still a little clunk.

After years of resting on three wheels, the old rack is slightly warped. 😔
I decided to let this one go.

I can live with it, and I’m absolutely not sitting here thinking that the curbside rack that I pulled a wheel from earlier could entirely replace the old slightly off-balance rack and solve everything.

Cuz it won’t. The universe has delivered.
