Idk who needs to hear this (maybe it& #39;s just me)- but obsessing over your own mental health is not healthy either. [1]
I always feel this pressure to only make healthy decisions or to only be sad in healthy ways or *find myself stressing out over how little me-time I& #39;ve had for myself over the week*... [2]
Not because I& #39;m sad or stressed, but because I have some sort of idea that that& #39;s not "healthy", probably because of my history with poor mental health, but that by itself can be overwhelming and not conducive to well-being. [3]
While there& #39;s a lot of science to back self-care and healthy grieving etc- sometimes we don& #39;t have the energy to be "healthy" about our emotions, and that& #39;s okay. [4]
The biggest goal here is to be kind to yourself, and to constantly have to measure our feelings and habits against what& #39;s considered a "good way" to be is almost just as counterproductive as clearly toxic behavior. [5]
In another perspective, eating healthy and working out frequently is great for your physical health! Obsessing over calories and not being kind to yourself when you can& #39;t work out is not. Don& #39;t obsess over your mental calories either.
