Short thread.
My friend recently pointed out that I say, I love you, a whole lot. She also said that saying those words often, and to just everyone makes them less valuable. It doesn’t sound special, is what she said. That did get me thinking. I have been saying those words more
The reason is my dad. My dad passed away last September, but before he did, he would call me twice a day, mornings when he was in his walk, and then before he went to bed. Our chats, short or long, always ended with ‘I love you beta.’ Always.
The day he passed, I had talked to him only a few hours before, and his final words to me were ‘ I love you beta.’

On my darkest, saddest days, I take solace in those words. I got to hear them, and say them to him.
Those words are valuable and important, and that is precisely why, we should say them as often as we can, to whoever we want to, we need to, or like to. You can love someone for a lifetime, and then you can love a complete stranger, you can also love someone in just that moment.
And in every case it is ok to say them. You never know, how those words will touch someone’s life. Like my friend @gauravpramanik says, when we can spread hate freely, why not love. God knows, we all need it now more than ever. To everyone reading this, I love you. Say it often.
