15 years ago this little show premiered on a network that no longer exists. It kickstarted my and several other careers of very talented people. I’m forever grateful for that. Below, I’ll do a thread of some info you may not know or some FAQ
1. All of the kids in this photo are rough 12-13 years old. We’re now all in our late 20s (27-28). Because of child labor laws (we could only work 9.5 hours vs the usual show average of 12 hours a day) this group had to be more efficient than usual. Everyone rose to the occasion
We premiere on UPN and got the network their first and only Golden Globe nomination in our first season before UPN merged with the WB to create what is now the CW. We were a big part of a small collective of shows that helped launch the CW to what it is today
Everybody Hates Chris was Imani Hakim’ first audition. Very rarely does this happen first time out the gate. It speaks to how great and naturally built for this she is. She’s currently on Mythic Quest on Apple+ with some other very talented people. You should check it out
FAQ: “Do you remember the episode when....”

A: No, I don’t. In my memory bank it’s all one big episode. This was high school for us, so it’s the equivalent of asking u if u remember one of the less eventful days from your high school life. I can recall pieces, but not specifics
FAQ: is that show still filming?

No, we only shot 4 seasons in 4 short years. 88 episodes. We were done by 2009. It seems like we filmed for longer than we did because we blew up in syndication once we finished around 2009 and that’s when many fans found the show.
Chris Rock receives a lot of credit for this show, as he should. But the man on the ground, everyday, running this show and making it the legendary show that it was, was @mrleroi . He is the answer to why this show worked. He’s a legend who deserves all of his flowers
FAQ: will there ever be a reboot?

Its been a convo before but the interesting hiccup & blessing is that everyone in this photo is very busy. All work regularly, in a variety of different mediums, genres, networks ect. We’ll keep trying but I’m proud of our scheduling issue
FAQ: did Chris pass his GED and what was with the finale?

Yes, he does and drops out. This starts the journey to comedy. The finale was a shot for shot parody of the Sopranos finale which also aired that year.
Fun fact: none of the series was filmed in New York. Although they cast a kid from New York (was still living their at the time) for the lead it was all shot at Paramount Studios in LA. That’s why you see the outside of the family house in so many other shows and music videos.

Thanks for all of the views over the years. Support the cast when you can. In today’s industry, things arn’t pushed in front of ur face the way EHC was in syndication. That’s okay. When you see us, support. When you don’t, don’t get us fucked up, we’re all somewhere, getting it.
