Friends it's time again for @FRCAction's Values Voter Summit!

This is your intrepid cub reporter @herong, sitting at home this time, live tweeting from my comfortable wing-back.
. @FRCdc's President Tony Perkins started the live broadcast with a "mask off" joke and by blaming the COVID-19 pandemic on the Communist Party of China.
Hawley telling Tony Perkins that Roe v. Wade was deciding wrong and if you believe it wasn't, you don't understand the role of a judge.

Hawley and Perkins are joking around that the Republicans have been appointing "stealth" justices who can pass the appointments process.
This is obviously a dig at Justice Gorsuch, who surprised the establishment Right by not only supporting an interpretation of Title VII that prohibits discrimination against LGBT people, but authored the decision himself.
Sen. Hawley on Senate Judiciary Committee. He's saying that Trump will nominate a replacement by the end of the week.

"We should have a full slate of hearings and we have time to do that before election day."
Sen. Hawley warning that the "radical left" will "burn down the streets" if Biden doesn't nominate the justices they want.

"They'll pack the courts."
First poll question from @FRCdc: "What is the most important issue influencing your vote this year?"

I'll share the results.
Metaxas: "BLM is a Marxist group. They do not care about Black lives. They have no authority to which they serve and they will do anything to get power, including lie."
This is a popular talking point for Metaxas, who just compared Black Lives Matter directly to the Nazi party and to Hitler.

"Black Lives Matter and antifa stand antithetical to everything that makes Black lives matter."
Metaxas is sitting in a room with a cut out of . . . Trump?? in the background with a huge club that says "We the People."

Is that Trump? Am I missing a reference?
Metaxas: "As a Christian, you have an obligation to stand against Black Lives Matter."
Metaxas at Values Voter: You have an obligation to vote for candidates who support capitalism and other programs that are flawed, but are the only things that have lifted people out of poverty.
This just in: Metaxas' cut out is from his own "Donald the Caveman" books.
Allie Stuckey at Values Voter: "Politics is downstream from culture. And culture is downstream from religion."
Allie Stuckey at #VVS2020: "If you want to change the country, change what people think about God."
Here are the results from that "poll" earlier on what the most important issue influencing our votes this year:
Up next, Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) and Rep. Vicky Hartzler (R-MO).

Rep. Hartzler talking about why she thinks churches should have immutability from liability if they should choose to reopen during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) teeing up that they need to confirm a new SCOTUS justice because there may be upcoming decisions on "voting" and "mail-in ballots," apparently teeing up possible suits around the Presidential election.

. @FRCdc's Tony Perkins asking Walker Wildmon of the American Family Association how to win the hearts and minds of young Evangelicals.

"We've got to continue to make disciples and wake up the church to what's going on so we can retake the culture."
Next "poll" question here at #VVS2020.

"Should the Senate proceed to fill the Supreme Court vacancy before the election?"
Next up Trent Lott's former chief of staff (and Paul Ryan's, as well FWIW), David Hoppe, who's telling us how SCOTUS nominations work.
And by controversial, I guess I mean "interesting." He's currently sharing statistics of SCOTUS confirmations by presidents with and without party control over the Senate.

He said that the Senate's failure to confirm Justice Garland is "apples to oranges" relative to now.
Hoppe saying that he's afraid an attack on the presumptive SCOTUS nominee will "be an attack on religion."

"There is an effort going on by extreme liberals to attack the freedom of religion."
Nb: no one here in the studio with Tony Perkins is wearing a mask.

Gary Bauer is speaking on US foreign policy on China. As I was researching his profile, I caught Tony Perkins saying that "Hollywood is now a proxy for Communist China."

Bauer agrees that the Mulan movie went too far, casting
Liu Yifei (who made favorable statements on China).
Bauer summing up the existential threat of "communist China."

"Every country in the world is going to have to choose between the American model--liberty under God--and the Chinese model, which says there can't be anything higher you look to than the government."
Ok, we're almost at the end!

Here's that poll: Should the Senate proceed to fill the Supreme Court vacancy before the election?

100% of voters voted yes.
Brunson: "We're always one generation away from losing our values and our culture."

Oh! I thought we were done but I guess we're going to watch an interview that Tony Perkins did with Mike Pompeo earlier.

Perkins starts with a joke about the swamp. Pompeo is less than enthused.
Watch our upcoming webinar on Christian Zionism, where we'll here about Pompeo's role in supporting Evangelical Zionism.

October 22!

Rep. Mark Walker (R-NC) is now taking us home with a closing prayer.
